Ivan Fedele è senza dubbio uno dei compositori italiani più importanti della sua generazione.
Lo dimostrano chiaramente il grande numero di commissioni che ha ottenuto e che continua a ottenere, nonché il numero di dischi dedicati alla sua musica.
Il concerto di URTIcanti è interamente dedicato a lui, 'padrino' di questo Festival. Infatti ne fu 20 anni fa il primo compositore ospite. Spesso è stato in questi anni ospite del Festival. Ma dopo 20 anni (2005 - 2025) ritorna per noi con il prestigioso SYNTAX ENSEMBLE
Syntax Ensemble was founded in Milan in 2018 as a contemporary music ensemble and quickly became a reference point in the Italian music scene. Its members include Valentina Coladonato (voice), Fernando Caida Greco (cello), Maurilio Cacciatore (electronics), Pasquale Corrado (conductor), Anna D’Errico (piano and keyboards), Francesco D’Orazio (violin and electric violin), Marco Ignoti (clarinets and wind controller), Dario Savron (percussion), and Maruta Staravoitava (flutes).
Since its inaugural season at Teatro Dal Verme in 2019, the ensemble has gained critical acclaim for its innovative concert formats, multimedia collaborations, and engaging programs that bridge diverse repertoires. Syntax Ensemble has performed at major festivals such as Milano Musica, Traiettorie Parma, Nuova Consonanza Roma, Amici della Musica di Firenze, and Accademia Filarmonica Romana, collaborating with leading contemporary composers including Ivan Fedele, Toshio Hosokawa, Unsuk Chin, Beat Furrer, George Benjamin, and others.
In 2020, the ensemble received the “Vivere all’italiana in musica” prize, enabling the production of “Una sola moltitudine”, an audio-visual project of works by Italian composers. Dedicated to education, Syntax has served as ensemble in residence for composition masterclasses at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan and at the Festival Pontino, and in 2024 it will begin a partnership with the Scuola Civica in Milan.
