SYNOD 2024

Every member of Synod (both clergy and lay) will need to register their information on this page.

The First Session of the Eighty-first Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane will commence on Friday 21 June 2024 with the Service of Holy Communion in St John’s Cathedral at 7.00 pm at which the Synod Sermon will be delivered.  After a short break, the Synod will convene in the Cathedral for the initial business of Synod. 

 The Cathedral Community invite Members of Synod and those attending the Synod Eucharist to enjoy a light meal and a glass of wine in the West End of the Cathedral from 5.30pm.

Synod will continue on Saturday 22 June and Sunday 23 June 2024 in Morris Hall, Anglican Church Grammar School, Oaklands Parade, East Brisbane.

Covid Safe event - What can I do to help make Synod a Covid Safe event?

• All Synod representatives and other persons attending Synod are to comply with ACSQ baseline controls, which include:

o Staying at home when sick

o Getting tested if you have any COVID-19 symptoms

o Maintaining physical distancing (1.5mtr), to the extent possible

o Washing hands often using soap and water or hand sanitizer

o Sneeze or cough into your arm or a tissue. Put the tissue in the bin

o Encouraged to stay up to date with vaccinations
