Synaesthesia Art and Community Event
About this Event
A relaxed Sunday afternoon where the science of synaesthesia meets lived experience and hands-on play. Hosted by the Synaesthesia Research Group at Macquarie University, this free community event invites everyone, synaesthetes, families, artists, students and the simply curious, to explore how our senses connect.
The programme includes a public talk on synaesthesia with Dr Noam Sagiv and artist Raewyn Turner, a painting and music workshop led by Carol Steen, and lived-experience talks with a live audience Q&A featuring special guest Prof. Anina Rich. Throughout the afternoon you can wander between hands-on stations and curated displays: sensory music instruments, perfume-and-music pairings, synaesthesia in film, fun thermal-imagery readings, the artistic meaning of colour, sensory illusions, and the chance to take part in real research.
No background needed, just bring your curiosity.
Presented by the Synaesthesia Research Group, Macquarie University.
