Delving into the velvet sound world of low brass, Principal Trombone Patrick Pfister and Sandström’s Wahlberg Variations centers a program featuring the best of multiple centuries of music. Haydn’s delightful “Il Distratto” not only opens the program, but it also inspired British composer phenom Anna Clyne’s Sound and Fury, along with another theatrical extreme: Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
