The King’s College London Symphony Orchestra (KCLSO) is one of the UK’s top student-led orchestras. KCLSO is composed of exceptional young musicians drawn from universities and conservatoires across London through a highly selective audition process, and is proudly managed by students from King’s College London.
Situated in the cultural heart of Central London, KCLSO offers a platform for young musicians to collaborate and to perform at a high standard. Alumni of the orchestra have found themselves to be working in the music industry, including in professional orchestras, and pit bands in the West End.
KCLSO takes a set of repertoire on tour each year. Recent tours include Malta (2025), with music by Grieg, Dvorak and Bohme, Southern France (2024), with music by Sibelius, Prokofiev, as well as resident student composers. These tours have been a highlight every summer season, as they allow the orchestra to share their passion and talent on a global stage.
The orchestra is currently under the baton of Ed Gertler, recent graduate of Cambridge and former assistant conductor of the National Youth Wind Orchestra.
