Cost: $5 donation appreciated to cover additional replacement cleanup supplies

Event Times: Note: Limited parking only for divers & paddlers please!
9:00 am Registration & Waivers, Set-up Scuba Gear
10:00 am: Dive Safety Briefing, followed by fins in for divers, followed by paddlers (weather permitting) launched, u/w lake cleanup starts
12:00 pm: lunch, generously provided by the Town of Sylvan Lake
Divers - please come out to collect some trash underwater and help keep our lakes, rivers, and waterways debris free!
Mesh bags (onion sacks) and a cutting device provided by the AUC. One tank only, see website: www.albertaunderwatercouncil.com/sylvan-lake-cleanup
Contact your LDS (local dive shop/instructor): Mark Faas, [email protected] (Red Deer) or Denise, 403-846-3914 (Rocky Mt. House) or your favourite LDS in Edmonton/Calgary, etc.
Paddlers needed, preferably in canoes, to paddle trash back to shore & give divers empty mesh bags to continue on.
Shore support volunteers needed to help divers/paddlers collect, record and dispose of trash in Town of Sylvan Lake's Garbage Truck.
PLUS: Shore cleanup volunteers are welcome to collect trash along the shoreline. Dress appropriately, gloves, BYO bag, etc. Also nice to have small plastic container to collect "sharps" (glass, metal, etc). Do not touch needles!! All children must be accompanied by an adult & a WAIVER must be signed.
