18-19/2 2026 ● Doors 18.30 ● On stage 19.00 ● 60 min Sylph is a dance performance that takes inspiration from the 1909 ballet Les Sylphides by Michel Fokine, which is considered the first ballet based entirely on mood and dance with no real narrative. Sylph dabbles in the occult as well, merges it with classical ballet and explores ASMR sounds that generate a sensorial experience, a sort of a low intensive euphoria that creates a secret bond between dancer and audience.
Sylph is created in collaboration with the dancers of Cullberg, composer Shida Shahabi, set-/light designer Chrisander Brun and costume designer Hanna Kisch and is a performance that examines what happens choreographically when sound, costume, set design, lights and dance have an equal role.

Cullberg is one of Sweden’s most well-known international dance companies. We present choreographers from all over the world and produce high quality contemporary dance. By daring to remain in the unknown we aim to challenge, expand and get lost in the possibilities of dance.
As of July 1, 2022 Cullberg is led by artistic director Kristine Slettevold. The company consists of 17 dancers, co-creators in the artistic process with the intention and interest to develop the works continuously. Cullberg is part of the Swedish National Touring Theatre, Riksteatern.
HALLA ÓLAFSDÓTTIR
Halla Ólafsdóttir is a dancer and choreographer with an MA in choreography from Stockholm University of the Arts (formerly DOCH). She always works collectively in various constellations, looking for ways to expand the notion of choreography. A big part of her work revolves around inventing new formats for dance performances and how politics and gender are projected onto body movements. Halla often uses recognizable material from art and popular culture in order to explore what happens when it is put in the context of contemporary dance.
