The Support Your Local Collective is proud to present Truant on the 10th of May for his Auckland debut back-to-back with no other than NZ’s finest, Headland, at The Mothership.In what will be arguably our most outrageous show to date, we will have the two aforementioned dubstep titans uniting to bring you a two and a half hour power session of the freshest, most forward thinking140 BPM music and more.
Truant is best known for his tasteful dubstep productions with frequent releases on Juan Forte and his long standing residency on Rinse FM where he masterfully blends the latest dubstep with the classics that got us here today. He also has a distinct taste in favor of the dubstep roots, expect percussive rhythms over the deep, dubby rolling basslines to really get yourself grooving – dubstep doesn’t have to have a snare on the 3! Headland really doesn’t need any introduction around here, does he? If you haven’t been graced by his presence yet, Headland’s sound is impossible to put into words and I’m not even going to try. All I can tell you is he is one of the most unique electronic producers around and a Headland DJ set is something you just must bear witness to – nothing else can do it justice.
The other artists on this bill are phenomenal and we are very excited to have them joining us. Firstly, is Dellusion. Patrick is a talented dubstep producer and DJ with a wide array of tastes and a solid work ethic. In the background, he has been building a steady arsenal of dubs over time and in the recent past has finally made some of his music available to us with his huge self release, STILL MURKING – a heavy, sub rich dubstep tune with a bassline reminiscent of early Deep Medi tunes blended with hard hitting grime esk drums carrying the tops. Next up is Forward Stance, the notorious Wellington duo that have been destroying dance floors up and down Aotearoa recently. Comprised of Dusty and Sheboy, these two are some serious dub slingers and we are privileged to be giving them both their Auckland debuts. If you’ve been living under a rock, wake up and go catch their fresh Keep Hush set and after that, listen to Dusty’s bass face inducing Infernal Sounds EP, Hydro.
This night of epic proportions was too much for earth, so we had to hop in Auckland’s finest space bound vessel, The Mothership, to contain it.
