Want to hear how we're planning to get 3,000 Sydneysiders to the largest civil disobedience action for climate in Australian history?
Please join us for RT Sydney's second Affinity Group workshop!
Affinity groups are small, nonhierarchical groups of about 6-12 people who share a social bond, and can function as units of community care, logistical support, and collective decision making. They're a great model for building a democratic movement!
What to expect:
- An introduction to Rising Tide's strategic principles,
- Workshop sessions on affinity group organising to help us develop our skills for organising, communication, decision making and mutual aid,
- An invitation to join the People's Blockade in your community or friend group (and how to make that happen),
- Learn facilitation techniques for deepening connection and participatory decisionmaking,
- And practice these skills using Blockade scenarios!
This event will be held on Gadigal Country, and we pay our respects to Indigenous people everywhere, whose struggle for justice remains integrally tied to land rights and environmental protection.
