ABOUT THE POET: My work explores the fears of being a child, advocates for the voices of women in Biblical stories, records stories of Cuban heritage, and searches for moments of light. My poems have been recognized by the Andrés Montoya Prize, the Poetry International Prize, the Joy Harjo Prize, and more. My work has appeared in Poetry, Poetry International, The Mississippi Review, and other places. Santa Tarantula, my first book, is forthcoming in spring 2024 from The University of Notre Dame Press. Presented in partnership with SWWIM (Supporting Women Writers in Miami.)
