Austin Neverman & Phoenix Grey are combining their collective swing knowledge to help elevate their respective specialties: Lindy Hop & West Coast Swing.
There will be two, 1-hour workshops, geared toward each dance, Lindy Hop & West Coast Swing, respectively. Check out the workshop details below:
Advanced Lindy-Hop Connections: We will use our hour together to elevate your understanding of connection and how to influence your partnering into advanced flows. We’ll leverage core concepts like anchoring and lateral connection, as well as foundational flows like the sugar pushes and tuck turns to explore more complex ideas. If you are an intermediate or advanced dancer looking to take your partnering skills to the next level, this class is for you!
Lindy Styling for WCS: Let’s use our hour to take a look at some vintage swing concepts we can leverage in our West Coast Swing to jazz up our partnered and solo stylings. We’ll work on incorporating footwork variations, vintage jazz movements, and classic stylings into our repertoire. If you’re looking to elevate your individuality or take your artistic expression to the next level, this class is for you.

Who Should Attend:
- Advanced Lindy-Hop Connections: Dancers who are confident in their 6 and 8-count Lindy Hop figures, and are resilient on the social dance floor. No partner is required.
- Lindy Styling for WCS: Dancers who are confident in their 6 and 8-count West Coast Swing figures, and are resilient social dancers. No partner is required.
What's the Cost:
- Register Online Advance: $25 per each 1-hour work
- Cost at the Door $30 per each 1-hour work
Where is the Workshop: Dance with Joy Studios in Sellwood! We recommend arriving around 1:45pm to get settled so that we can start on time. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up ASAP!
Health: Proof of vaccination is not required to attend this workshop. Masking is optional.
