Swinging Christmas with the Exeter Jazz Orchestra

Swing into Christmas with another night of jazz classics, golden age groovers and cool carols, as the Exeter Jazz Orchestra make their triumphant, trumpeting return to Exeter Library with another Swingin' show, following 3 sell-out performances in the last 3 years! Come and join in with a Christmassy tradition that will one day rival paper hats and naff office parties.
About the band
Founded in 2021 to beat the pandemic blues, this Big Band has gone from 0-60 in no time at all. You may have already caught them filling the high-street with joyful jazz at the Jubilee or playing around in the park at the Respect Festival.
About the music
There will be a full line up of some of Exeter and Devon’s premier musicians, under the direction of jazz saxophonist Will Paley. From Count Basie and Glenn Miller through to the more modern sounds of Buddy Rich and Gordon Goodwin (and with just about everything else in between!) Plus some festive cheer, and Christmas classics with a twist. Come along, bop the night away, beat those winter blues and catch EJO at their jazzy, snazzy best.
Doors from 19:30 - the band kicks off at 20:00.
There will be pop-up bar serving soft drinks and alcohol.
Tickets for this performance are £9 for Library members and £12 for non-members, and all profits made will go back into both EJO and Libraries Unlimited, a registered charity.
