Swinging at Philly Joe’s alustab taaskord, koondades kokku swingtantsijad ja muusikud! See õhtu on mõeldud kõigile, kelle vinüüliriiulist leiab rariteete või kes on pikalt otsinud uutmoodi elevust oma nädalavahetusse, sest Philly Joe’s saal muutub palavaks tantsuplatsiks! Ka eemalt nautlejatele oleme mõelnud, jättes saali mõnusad diivanid ja boksid, kust meeleolukat õhtut kogeda.
Tantsule kutsub Jaan Krivel Swing Project, kes esitab soliidselt ja ajastutruult kuldse swingiajastu muusikat. Repertuaari on valitud ennekõike swingi standardid ja lemmiklaulud, mis kellelegi võõrad ei ole ja lubavad tantsupõrandal olles mõnusalt kaasa tantsida.
Õhtut jätkavad plaadipuldist Tallinn Swing Dance Society DJ-d.

💃 Enne esinejaid toimub ka populaarseima swingtantsu Lindy Hop tantsuõpetus Tallinn Swing Dance Society juhendajate käe all.
Juhendajad: Kelli Suvi ja Johannes Gustav Varkki

Lindy Hop on swingtants, mis pärineb swingiajastu hiilgeaegadest, 1930ndate aastate New Yorgist, Harlemi linnaosast. Lindy Hop on segu mitmest selle ajastu tantsustiilist nagu jazz, stepp ja charleston. Kiiresti populaarsust kogunud tantsustiil vallutas kogu Ameerika ning levis peagi üle terve maailma. Uus tantsustiil sai oma nime esimesest peatuseta lennureisist New Yorgist Pariisi, mille sooritas Charles Lindberg hüüdnimega Lucky Lindy.

Swinging at Philly Joe’s starts again, bringing together swing dancers and musicians! This evening is intended for everyone whose vinyl rack contains rarities or who has been looking for a new kind of excitement to their weekend, because our Philly Joe’s hall will become a hot dance floor! We’ve also put some thought into those enjoying themselves from a distance, leaving comfortable sofas and booths in the hall where you can experience the lively evening.
Jaan Krivel Swing Project invites you to dance, performing music from the golden age of swing in a true and timeless manner. The repertoire includes swing standards and favorite songs that are familiar to everyone and allow you to dance along while on the dance floor.
The evening will continue with Tallinn Swing Dance Society DJ’s.

💃 Before the live performance a dance lesson will be given in the most popular swing dance style, Lindy Hop, by Tallinn Swing Dance Society instructors.

Lindy Hop is a swing dance that originated in the heyday of the swing era, in the Harlem district of New York in the 1930s. Lindy Hop is a mixture of several dance styles of that era, such as jazz, tap and Charleston. The dance style, which quickly gained popularity, conquered all of America and soon spread all over the world. The new dance style got its name from the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris, which was performed by Charles Lindbergh, nicknamed Lucky Lindy.
