In 2025 Australia will play home once again to the freshest up-and-coming artists in the scene with the return of NEW BLOOM FEST, a curated touring festival showcasing all things alt rock, post-hardcore, grunge, punk, and everything in between.
Philadelphia's SWEET PILL have added three special headline shows this March, joined by special guests BAD NEIGHBOUR.
SWEET PILL's headline sideshows will kick off on Friday 7 March in Brisbane ahead of NEW BLOOM FEST that weekend, followed by a show in Melbourne on Wednesday 12 March, and Adelaide on Thursday 13 March.
Forming in college in New Jersey before establishing themselves in Philadelphia, emerging alt idols SWEET PILL satiate with their infectious, innovative and incessantly charming take on emo laced with pop and hardcore.
Brandishing crisp guitars, occasional math-rock hues, bouncy melodics and poignant vocals, SWEET PILL penned their debut album, 2022's Where the Heart Is in the early pandemic stages, with the end result praised for its charisma, nuanced dynamics and sharp production throughout. Their first ever album also earned a spin from Paramore's very own Hayley Williams, with the album's lush track High Hopes featured on Williams' BBS Radio podcast Everything Is Emo.
With their undeniable star-power percolating across their short career to date, SWEET PILL have enamoured onstage alongside Taking Back Sunday, Origami Angel and Mayday Parade. The band will also join Movements this May in Europe, before taking the stage at Slam Dunk Festival in the UK.
Brisbane's BAD NEIGHBOUR formed in 2018, coming together over a shared adoration for rough-around-the-edges punk and classic emo. From their debut EP Take Care through to their 2024 debut full length Millions, BAD NEIGHBOUR have wowed with their razor sharp take on the indie rock realms over the years, the band most recently toured nationally with Tiny Moving Parts, and have previously shared stages with Hot Mulligan and Spanish Love Songs, and performed at 2024's New Bloom Fest and Good Things Festival.
