Conductor Emerita Gisèle Ben-Dor kicks off Pro Arte’s 48th season in September with a dramatic program of energy, elegance, and exuberance. The explosive overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera Dio Giovanni memorably anticipates the ultimate fate of the legendary seducer Don Juan. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 features the 18-year-old, award-winning soloist Seokyoung Hong. For Alberto Ginastera’s ravishing ballet Estancia, operatic baritone Marcelo Guzzo tells the story of a city boy and a rancher’s daughter, whose love blossoms over the course of a single day.
