Swar Yatra: A Musical Concert

Join us for a special evening of Hindustani Classical vocal music with acclaimed vocalist Aditi Bhushan Joshi and her ensemble, presented at the Tagore Centre, Embassy of India, Berlin.

The concert opens with two classical Ragas, presented through a Bandish followed by a Tarana. The performance then moves into the semi-classical tradition, featuring forms such as Dadra and Kajri. The concert concludes with a soulful Nirguni Bhajan of Sant Kabir, offering a reflective and spiritual finale, tracing a musical journey from the disciplined grammar of classical Raga to the free, devotional spirit of the Bhajan.

Aditi Joshi will be accompanied by:

Aditi Bhushan Joshi has trained in Hindustani Classical vocal music since 1982 under Smt. Neela Ghanekar, Pt. Yashwant Bua Joshi (a doyen of the Gwalior and Agra Gharanas), Dr. Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe, and Pt. Shankar Abhyankar. She holds a Sangeet Alankar (Master's in Music) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya with an All India First Rank, and is an approved 'A' Grade Artist with All India Radio.

Her honours include the 'Sur Mani' Sanman from Sur Singar Sansad and a UGC Junior Research Fellowship in Indian Classical Music. She has performed extensively in India and abroad, including at the SAREGAMA International Schedule in London and in memorial concerts for stalwarts such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and Pt. Kumar Gandharva. From 2023 to 2025, she was posted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Moscow, by the ICCR, teaching and performing Indian Classical Music across Russia.

This special evening at the Embassy of India, Berlin, offers a rare opportunity to experience the depth and range of Hindustani Classical music, from rigorous Raga to soulful devotional song.
