An active session musician and orchestral/choral arranger, Landsverk has worked with such musical luminaries as Father John Misty, Pink Martini, Storm Large, Smokey Robinson, Van Dyke Parks, Rachel Taylor Brown, Holcombe Waller, Liz Vice, Kasey Anderson, Box Set, and Alela Diane.
RACHEL TAYLOR BROWN
Rachel's a songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist who's released 10 internationally acclaimed albums. The power of music to comfort and heal was first brought home to her when she worked as a recreational therapist at a long-term care facility in her twenties. Group singing through familiar old songs brought clarity and comfort to those who needed it most.
She's a soprano veteran of Portland classical groups Cappella Romana, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Trinity Consort, and Seattle's Tudor Choir and also works as a session singer, arranger and keyboardist in the PNW and beyond.
She's honored to be a part of Swan Songs at Artichoke Music with her beloved friends and much-admired colleagues, Ben Landsverk and Kyleen King.
KYLEEN KING
Kyleen King has been active in the Portland music scene since 2009. As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, she works as a session player, performer, arranger, composer, producer, and teacher. Kyleen's solo project (A Cat Named Grandpa) has been an outlet for her personal songwriting and arranging work for well over a decade. She is the former violist/violinist and backup singer in Grammy-winning artist Brandi Carlile’s touring band and the first-call violist/violinist/arranger for Portland's top recording studios, where she has recorded on projects with My Morning Jacket, First Aid Kit, The Decemberists, and many more.
Kyleen is on the board of the Local 99 Musicians Union and chairs their Mental Health Committee, a group that provides and advocates for mental health and resource support for its members and the local music community.
