You're invited to Swamp in the City’s Annual Fundraiser Bash! 🐊🗽
Sunday, December 7th, 2025 from 5–8PM - Red Hook, Brooklyn (address provided with RSVP)
Join us for a special evening of music, food, and community as Joel Savoy & Linzay Young bring their legendary twin fiddling to Brooklyn for Swamp in the City’s annual fundraiser bash!
The celebration takes place in a private Red Hook artist’s studio—a spacious yet intimate indoor/outdoor venue. (Since it’s a private space, the address will be shared with guests a few days prior to the event.)
We’ll kick off with a Cajun dinner prepared on-site by Linzay and Joel (vegetarian/GF option available). While the pot simmers, enjoy a Cajun jam session (bring your instrument if you’d like to join!) and browse unique silent auction items. Then settle in for an intimate performance in a beautiful artist’s studio.
About The Artists
Joel Savoy and Linzay Young have been making music together since they were in their early teens. Well-steeped in their Cajun culture, this dynamic duo from Eunice Louisiana, has traveled the world sharing their heritage through music, food, and stories with a casual and intuitive authority that, as Linzay likes to say, would even make his home-cooked spaghetti a “Cajun” dish. Sharing the stage together as founders and frontmen for the Red Stick Ramblers in the early 2000s, Linzay and Joel helped lead a renaissance in Acadiana to create the blooming scene that exists there today. They inspired the likes of Chef Anthony Bourdain and HBO’s Tremé to visit South Louisiana stimulating a new wave of music- and food-centric events such as boucheries, courirs de mardi gras, festivals, and more. Performing a range of both original and vintage southern music these musical brothers unite with fiddles, accordion, guitar and voice to make every performance feel like a lantern-lit house dance on the prairies of southwest Louisiana.
🐊 Evening highlights include:
Cajun dinner lovingly prepared by the artists (with a vegetarian/gf option available)
Community Cajun jam (all players welcome)
Intimate live concert with Joel Savoy & Linzay Young
Silent auction featuring local treasures
🎟️ Tickets: $100 — includes dinner, Cajun jam, and concert
Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase.
🎥 Livestream Option: Can’t join in person? Donate $20 or more to support the cause and enjoy the concert from anywhere. Livestream begins around 6:30pm on Sunday, Dec 7.
All proceeds support the artists and Swamp in the City’s year-round programming—bringing world-class Cajun and Zydeco music and dance to NYC through our annual May festival and ongoing dance series. Swamp in the City is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and growing this living cultural heritage through inclusive and accessible programming.
👉 Reserve your spot, support the cause, and lâche pas!
