Dr. Ken Meyer, Executive Director at the nonprofit Avian Research and Conservation Institute in Gainesville, has been studying Swallow-tailed Kites for over 25 years.
Dr. Meyer also carries out research on Snail Kites and the even rarer Short-tailed Hawks, a tropical species with a small Florida population. For Orange Audubon Society’s February 18th in-person program, Dr. Meyer will share current knowledge of biology of these two rare raptors, the Swallow-tailed and Snail Kites.
