Sutton House Proud
Join us on Friday 25th September, 6-9pm, for an evening exploring and celebrating Hackney’s Queer and Resistance history at Sutton House Proud!
The evening will include talks on the layered history of Sutton House and Hackney’s rich local LGBTQ+, resistance and counterculture history and movements - delivered by guest local historian Dan de la Motte and the Sutton House's own Abigail Winslow. The event will also include interactive resistance themed art, led by a local artist roots.city and the return of live music by widget to the ‘Blue House’, which is what Sutton House was called in the 1980’s when squatters saved, occupied and created music in the building. Hear the sounds of the squatters and take the time to explore how Sutton House has changed throughout the decades - from the Tudors to the Punks.
