About this Event
Hosted by the Westminster School of Arts, Sustainable Seas: A Student Ocean Summit is a two-day, school-wide initiative that brings together students, staff, artists, and climate activists to explore creative solutions for protecting our oceans.
Through panels, workshops, and exhibitions, the event connects sustainability, creativity, and activism: encouraging students and guests to engage with real-world environmental issues through fashion, photography, film, and performance.
This yearβs theme, Protecting Our Blue Planet, invites students to reflect, create, and act for a sustainable future.
Students will receive a certificate of attendance upon completing the 2-day summit.
π Day 1: Inspiration & Awareness
Monday 27 October 2025 | Harrow Auditorium
The summit begins with a day of inspiration, featuring an ocean documentary, expert panel discussion, and student-led reflections.

Students bring their ideas to life through specialist workshops and collaborative making sessions, culminating in a final showcase and a sustainability pledge.

- Photography: The Sustainable Darkroom β eco-printing and image-making
- Performance: Songwriting for Change with Nicola & Leddra Chapman
- Film: Documenting the Ocean Crisis with Jim Woodall

- Ocean Innovation & Art Showcase β student-led presentations and performances
- Sustainability Pledge & Prize Giving with Prof. Peter Bonfield
- Certificates & Closing Ceremony in Area 51, followed by a Drinks Reception
