About this Event

Join us on July 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM for a symposium entitled “Sustainable Innovations in Materials Science and Engineering” featuring Professor William Dichtel (Northwestern University) as our keynote speaker.

Over the past decade, materials science has grown significantly, with a thriving research and industrial ecosystem emerging in the Northeast U.S. The scientific program will center on sustainability as a unifying theme, highlighting cutting-edge chemistry that addresses pressing environmental challenges. By bringing together leaders working at the intersection of chemistry, sustainability, and materials innovation, the symposium aims to spark new collaborations and accelerate the translation of sustainable science from the lab to industrial practice.

The event will feature invited talks, a poster session, and a networking reception designed to foster meaningful interactions and collaborations across the Boston-area materials community.

Confirmed Speakers

· Professor Will Dichtel – Northwestern University

· Nicole Richards – CEO, Allonnia

· Jan Roosenboom – CTO, Macrocycle Technologies

· Professor Diego Alzate-Sanchez – Northeastern University

The symposium will highlight innovations spanning sustainable polymers, circular materials systems, PFAS remediation, advanced recycling technologies, and broader sustainability-focused materials research. We anticipate participation from over 100 attendees, including researchers from academia, professionals from industry and startups, students, and members of the broader materials science ecosystem in the Northeast U.S.

Poster Presenters: Please do not register for the symposium until you receive confirmation that your poster abstract has been accepted. Registration instructions and payment details will be shared upon abstract acceptance.

Dress is business casual, and registration is required to attend the meeting.
