Details: Join us for an educational workshop to learn about sustainable gardening practices, integrated pest management, and benefits of composting, then stick around for a garden work day to help gardeners clean, W**d, mulch, and care for the garden space. We'll provide light refreshments and tools.
This workshop is led by Charlotte Canner. Charlotte loves to inform and inspire appreciation for soil, plants, microbes, and food scraps. You can read more about her work and projects at her website, Earth Ally. She is embedded in the Rhode Island composting community and has volunteered and worked with organizations focused on waste reduction and diversion and composting in many forms including Harvest Cycle, Epic Renewal, and the Rhode Island School Recycling Project. Currently, as the Recycling Coordinator for the towns of South Kingstown and Narragansett, she supports residents in their efforts to divert waste from the landfill.
Charlotte is an enthusiastic educator who loves to share about the power of compost to fight climate change, regenerate soil, and build community.
Open to all ages, and this event is accessible to English and Spanish speakers.
We will still gather in the case of drizzle. Hopefully we'll have a sunny day but our rain date is Wednesday, August 5 from 5:30-7:30pm.
Pre-registration is encouraged, and if you sign up online you can skip filling out our waiver on the day of the event!

Detalles: Acompáñenos en un taller educativo para aprender sobre prácticas de jardinería sostenible, manejo integrado de plagas y los beneficios del compostaje; después, quédese para un día de trabajo en el jardín para ayudar a los jardineros a limpiar, quitar malezas, poner aserrín y cuidar al espacio del jardín.
