Do you have garments you love but never wear? Or a beautiful thrifted fabric waiting to become something unique? This full-day workshop is your chance to explore natural dyeing and sustainable fashion hands-on.
Bring your own clothing or fabric made from plant-based fibers (cotton, linen, rayon, or blends ), and we’ll guide you through the natural dye process from start to finish. For the best results, we recommend white or light-colored items, as these take on botanical color more clearly.
You’ll learn how to scour, mordant, and choose from several creative dye techniques using botanical materials — and even experiment with color-shifting modifiers like iron and soda ash.
While we wait between steps, you'll discover the magic of plant color, explore different dye plants and effects, and get inspired by real examples of naturally dyed fashion.
