Modern life moves fast. Most of us carry a quiet undercurrent of stress, scattered focus, and the sense that we're always one step behind. We try to manage it with caffeine, screens, and weekend recovery – but nothing quite settles the body and mind the way we genuinely need.
Surya Kriya is a structured classical yoga practice designed to do exactly that. Surya means "sun," and kriya means "inner process" – together, a practice that gently activates the body's natural energy, steadies the breath, and brings clarity to the mind. In modern terms, you could think of it as a complete system for nervous system regulation, hormonal balance, and mental focus, drawn from one of the world's oldest traditions of wellbeing.
It's been practised quietly for thousands of years. Once available only to dedicated practitioners, it's now offered openly as a tool well-suited to the pace and pressures of modern life.
You don't need to be flexible. You don't need to be fit. You don't need any prior experience. By the end of the weekend, you'll know the full practice – about 21 minutes a day – and be able to do it on your own at home, for the rest of your life.
What the practice supports:
- Mental clarity and steady focus
- Balanced energy throughout the day
- A calmer, more settled mind
- Improved sleep and recovery
- Physical strength, balance, and stability
- A foundation for deeper meditation, if that's a direction you wish to explore
- A daily anchor in a busy life
Who it's for:
- Anyone feeling stressed, scattered, or stretched thin
- People curious about a daily wellbeing practice but unsure where to start
- Complete beginners – no prior yoga or meditation experience needed
- Those who want something grounded and authentic, taught simply
- People drawn to classical practices but put off by overly mystical framing

Class Guidelines
- Arrive 10-30 minutes before the class starts. For your safety, you may not be able to join a session once it commences.
- Observe silence when you come into the studio and until the class begins. It is a time to move out of your world of thoughts and come into the present moment and connect with yourself.
- If you need support for your ankles or head or anything else, please bring a large towel or blanket with you.
- Be mindful of the effect of strong perfumes on your fellow students.
- Remove watches and noisy jewelry.
- Leave handbags and personal belongings that are not required during the class at the back of the class or in your car.
- If you have any injuries or are pregnant, please inform the teacher before the class begins. Many injuries can be accommodated if the teacher is aware of them.
- If you are ill, have a cold or fever, please contact the teacher and your doctor before attending the class.
