Based on the testimony of Holocaust survivor Ivor Perl, who arrived at Auschwitz at age 12, director Zoom Rockman presents a groundbreaking work of remembrance, on a par with Art Spiegelman’s Maus. Every character is drawn from historical references, including The Sketchbook from Auschwitz. Meticulously crafted puppets and sets bring the story to life in a manner that makes us see the Holocaust with fresh eyes. Featuring a post-film video performance including rapper JBC, son of the film’s composer Erran Baron Cohen (brother of filmmaker Sasha Barron Cohen).
