For people who’ve lost a loved one, the Thanksgiving and Christmas season can be bleak. Surviving the Holidays is a free event that offer coping tools and support for those who are grieving in our community. Susan Daniels will be facilitating both the Saturday, November 9th and Saturday, December 7th events. You are welcome to come to either one or both although the same GriefShare video will be shown at each event. These will take place in the Groesbeck Room in the Manhattan Public Library. Bring a notebook or journal to write in and your phone or tablet (if you have one) to refer to a workbook. Paper and pens will also be provided if you forget.
Meet your facilitator: After Susan's husband passed away in 2011 she took a GriefShare class. That led her to begin co-leading GriefShare classes. In 2018 she completed her book "God Never Wasted a Hurt: A widow's journey through Grief, Faith and Hope." She's led grief and trauma groups at Pawnee Mental Health for three years. This December, she will be a certified End of Life Doula and Advanced Care Planning Specialist through International Doula Life Movement. Susan also volunteers with Good Shepherd Hospice House and is involved at Mosaic Church.
