Wanlop Hansunthai uses symbols in his new works, exploring the origins of human existence and the growth and expansion of tribalism from long ago. Many artworks have been created around the world that reflect the changes in the social structures of a society, including the various cultural foundations, and which have been influenced by the perspectives, experiences and interests of those concerned in depicting the relationship between humans, nature and the environment.
The exhibition "SURVIVAL SPHERE" is the result of a imaginative interplay of beliefs, values and even mythology, including the pessimistic but unfortunately true ideas of the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588 - 1679).
"Man is man's wolf."
Hobbes believed that humans are naturally selfish and ambitious and, like a wolf, fights for his own survival by any means necessary. People are suspicious and do not trust each other, and for the sake of security they have the right to protect themselves from others. It seems only natural that these traits have their roots deep in the human psyche.
The current world situation, in which there are more armed conflicts than ever before, man-made misery and hunger, people selfishly ignoring or even denying climate change, the hostile mood against refugees worldwide, all seem to confirm Hobbes' thesis.
The artist wants to stimulate a discourse about human behaviour and its different perceptions. The viewer is invited to enter into a dialogue and, if they do, perhaps their curiosity will be aroused to engage with different constructs of belief and philosophy.
The paintings, sculptures, mixed media and ceramic works on display are wonderfully complemented by a live performance and round off the artist's narrative of the interplay between humans, environment and history.

นิทรรศการ Survival Sphere : จากนักล่าสู่ผู้ถูกล่า สร้างขึ้นจากจินตนาการระหว่างรอยต่อของความเชื่อ ค่านิยม หรือแม้แต่มายาคติ สอดแทรกแนวคิดทางปรัชญาของโทมัส ฮอบส์ ที่กล่าวว่า “มนุษย์มีธรรมชาติ ที่เห็นแก่ตัว มีความทะเยอทะยานเป็นสัญชาติญาณเดิม เปรียบเสมือนหมาป่าที่ต้อง คอยดิ้นรนต่อสู้เพื่อความอยู่รอด ด้วยเหตุดังกล่าวมนุษย์จึงหวาดระแวง ไม่ไว้วางใจ ซึ่งกันและกัน ทุกคนต่างปกป้องและรักษาชีวิตตนเอง เพื่อไม่ให้อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งทำร้าย มนุษย์จึงมีสิทธิตามธรรมชาติในอันที่จะรักษาตัวเองให้อยู่รอดปลอดภัยจากการคุกคามหรือทำร้ายจากผู้อื่น” ซึ่งล้วนแล้วแต่เป็นธรรมชาติที่ถูกซ่อนอยู่ภายในจิตใจของมนุษย์

ภาพเขียน งานประติมากรรม การจัดวางสื่อผสมที่ไม่จำกัดเทคนิค รวมถึงศิลปะการแสดงสด เสมือนการสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์ สิ่งแวดล้อม และประวัติศาสตร์ อันทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวขับเคลื่อนเรื่องราวทั้งหมด วัลลภ หาญสันเทียะ เปิดประเด็นการรับรู้ของมนุษย์ ชักชวนให้ผู้ชมสร้างบทสนทนาระหว่างกัน และกระตุ้นความสงสัยต่อการตั้งคำถามกับสังคมว่า แท้จริงแล้วความเชื่อที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นส่งผลต่อความคิดของผู้คนอย่างไร? นิทรรศการ Survival Sphere : จากนักล่าสู่ผู้ถูกล่า จึงเป็นเพียงการเปิดประตูไปสู่นิยามความเชื่อในมิติต่างๆของบริบททางสังคม
