Your Topic:

How can we make vaccination great again?

Vaccines have saved millions of lives, yet fewer people are getting them today, making us more at risk to diseases not seen in generations. In this talk, Paul will explore why vaccination rates are dropping, what that means for our communities, and how vaccines train the immune system to protect us. He’ll share insights from his research in vaccine immunology and show what you can do to help make vaccination great again.

Your Speaker:

Paul Gill is a Research Fellow in Immunology at Monash University, where he studies how our immune system responds to COVID‑19 vaccines, with a focus on protecting people whose immunity is weakened. His work forms a key part of the PROPHECY study, led by Professor Menno van Zelm, helping shape how we understand vaccine effectiveness in real‑world, vulnerable populations.
He completed his PhD at Monash, investigating how diet derived short chain fatty acids influence human immunity and previously researched how the innate immune system contributes to inflammatory bowel disease. With experience across clinical research, gastroenterology, and nutrition, Paul’s work helps uncover how everyday factors, shape our immune health.
