Supporting Volunteers' Mental Health through Mentoring

Mentoring is one of the things that makes a volunteering project truly meaningful. And those of us who walk alongside volunteers know that their wellbeing is part of that journey too. This training is a space to strengthen our own skills in supporting that wellbeing – not as therapists or experts, but as the people who are simply there for their volunteers.
A gentle but important note: we approach mental health here from promotion and prevention, not diagnosis or healing. That work belongs to professionals. Ours is about creating environments where people feel safe, seen and supported.
No prior knowledge of mental health is needed – just a role that involves supporting volunteers, and a willingness to learn together.
