Supporting Refugee and Asylum Seeking Individuals (Swansea)

The training is delivered in a friendly, open and safe environment by experienced trainers who have expertise and experience of working with refugees and asylum-seeking individuals. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.

The learning outcomes will include:

• Understanding the Asylum and Refugee process
• Understand the broader landscape of migration internationally
• Explore push factors for forcibly displaced people
• Define key terminology associated with forcibly displaced people, asylum and refugee status
• Explore myths and facts around the asylum process
• Understanding the support available to and the challenges facing young asylum-seeking individuals in Wales
• Culturally inclusive support for young asylum-seeking individuals
• Awareness of the challenges after gaining refugee status for young people
• An understanding of Nation of Sanctuary
• Life after decisions - each person's experice is different
