If you are a caregiver of a child with suspected or confirmed prenatal substance exposure, you know, the lifetime effects of exposure are difficult to navigate. The depths of despair and boundless joy, neverending worry and exuberating pride, the severe exhaustion and endless energy, the lonely helplessness and inconsistent confusion…all the above are more, involved in loving a child who suffers from the neurological effects of prenatal substance exposure can only be truly felt by caregivers. Additionally, the lack of knowledge or support within the medical, professional and general community is both daunting and lonely.
