Supervision in Youth Work Training

Vibe’s Training in Supervision will provide sector recognised guidance on managing effective supervision of a youth worker role.

This course explores the theory and practical application of effective supervision within youth work. Developed through extensive consultation with youth work practitioners and organisations, the training has been shaped by the identified needs of the sector to ensure it is relevant, practical, and reflective of current practice.

Effective supervision is fundamental to delivering high-quality youth work. It provides practitioners with the opportunity to reflect on their practice, strengthen decision-making, enhance professional development, and maintain their wellbeing while delivering safe, effective support to young people.

The course equips managers and supervisors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to facilitate meaningful supervision conversations that promote accountability, continuous learning, and reflective practice. Participants will gain practical tools and approaches to embed effective supervision within their teams, ultimately strengthening workforce capability and improving outcomes for young people.

This work forms part of Liverpool’s wider ambition to build a coherent, high-quality Youth Offer aligned to the National Youth Work Curriculum and the National Youth Strategy.

This half day face-to-face course will be followed up with an online meeting 8 weeks later to help embed the learning and provide time for reflective observations.
