As we prepare for the beginning of our 2026-2027 school year, we would like to invite our community to join Governor Mifflin School District Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Hess, for the annual Superintendent’s Starting Line!
The Superintendent’s Starting Line will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:30-8:00 PM in the Governor Mifflin High School Auditorium (101 S. Waverly St., Shillington, PA 19607). In this presentation, Dr. Hess will set the stage for our 2026-2027 school year, review expectations, and highlight how we will be intentionally aligning our resources and actions to our mission, vision, values in order to achieve our district-wide goals and set our students up for success.
Dr. Hess will also be joined by three special guest presenters: Mr. Jeffrey Reichart, Director of Safe Schools and School Culture; Dr. Jean Solecki, Director of Special and Gifted Education, and Mrs. Leslie Shaud, our Supervisor of Behavioral Mental Health. Through their presentations, they will review…
- Important safety reminders for on and off-campus, as well as keeping kids safe online
- Concerning behaviors to look out for in children and adolescents
- Safety drills, how we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to respond to incidents on-campus, and what to expect in an emergency situation
- Ways that parents can support a smooth transition back into the classroom
- Mental and behavioral health supports available in our schools and community
- And more!
This presentation is free, open to the public, and no RSVP is required for this event. If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Shannon, Director of Communications and Community Relations, at [email protected].
