This February American dancers Kerry Kapaku and Benjamin Doane join Sunshine Swing to lead a star-spangled Intermediate/Advanced workshop. The workshop will consist of material to challenge your Lindy while giving you the tools to spice up your dancing by adding in some St. Louis Shag ideas and moves. ABOUT KERRY AND BENJAMIN
Kerry Kapaku
Kerry is a dancer, teacher, competitor, and performer based in Indianapolis, USA. While she's been dancing her whole life (including a concert dance performing career and a BFA in Dance Performance & Education from Ohio State University (OSU)), Kerry was introduced to the wonderful world of Lindy Hop and Jazz while attending OSU, and has been hooked ever since. In the classroom, Kerry strives to cultivate an upbeat and encouraging environment for all of her students, while emphasising creativity, authenticity, and self-expression. Kerry holds competitive titles from events such as ILHC, Nevermore Jazz Ball, Lindy Focus, Camp Hollywood, and more. At home, Kerry serves as an instructor for Naptown Stomp, and is the owner and director of DanceWorks Indy, Indianapolis's only dance and fitness studio for adults of all ages and abilities.

Benjamin Doane
Benjamin discovered swing dancing back in 2009, while at university, and has kept at it ever since! Benjamin enjoys the freedom, expression, and adventure that comes with swing dancing. Ever the extrovert, the connections made and friendships built through the joy of dance keep him coming back for more.
As an instructor, Benjamin emphasises connection and clarity, while encouraging creativity, no-shame mistakes, and “making it fun”. With a positive attitude and an openness to triumphs, failures, and play. Benjamin is passionate about helping dancers to improve their craft and providing a safe space to push themselves creatively.
You can find Benjamin competing at festivals and or in the Czech Republic, where he is settling into a swing dancing residency, teaching for the Swing Wings Brno Lindyhoppers dance school.
