Our region is home to some of the world’s most extraordinary migratory shorebirds — travelling thousands of kilometres each year to rest and feed right here on the shores of the Pumicestone Passage and beyond. These fragile visitors rely on healthy wetlands, seagrass meadows, and undisturbed habitats to survive.Join Take Action for Pumicestone Passage (TAPP Inc.) at this year’s Shorebirds Event, hosted by Sunshine Coast Council.
At the TAPP stall you can:
✅ Learn more about the Ramsar-listed wetlands and why the Passage is globally significant.
✅ Discover how water quality, coastal management, and community action all link to protecting shorebirds.
✅ Explore citizen science opportunities and how you can get involved in local monitoring.
✅ Pick up resources, ask questions, and connect with passionate volunteers.
