From 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM join Nalaverse for an A'Tiya Flow mini-flow.

Then, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM enjoy a live drumming performance by solo and Korean Ensemble percussionist Hyun Jin Cha! Presented in partnership with artist Eugene Lew.

About Hyun Jin Cha

Percussionist, Hyun Jin Cha is a solo and Korean ensemble musician. She began her career in Korea at the famous Korean music band DULSORI. During her 1998-2016 career in DULSORI, Hyun Jin has performed at many festivals, concerts, and collaboration with international music and dance artists in multi-disciplinary projects as an ensemble musician. She is also active in various fields such as festival workshops and lectures on traditional culture education.

Since 2010, she has also been involved in traditional Korean cultural planning. She has organized a variety of repertoire performances and invited overseas world music artists to organize residency programs, as well as hosting Jeonju So-ri Festival, Seoul Street Festival, and Ulsan World Music Festival in Korea.

In 2017, she moved to the US and has been continuing her music works, teaching, managing, and directing as a solo artist or an artistic director of URIOL.

Know Before You Go:

*The Rail Park is ADA and wheelchair accessible.

*The Rail Park is completely outdoors with tree cover only.

*You can enter the Rail Park by wheelchair accessible ramp East of Broad on Noble Street, or by stairs on Callowhill Street between 10th and 11th Streets.

*Please note that this event is free and open to the public, but we are still functioning at a limited capacity and therefore require registration for all programs.

*We encourage you to wear a mask while participating in programs at the Rail Park, for our safety and yours.

*Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided on site during the event.

*All activities and performances are family-friendly and all ages are welcome to participate.

*This event will have amplified sound and music.

  • A’Tiya Flow by Nalaverse is a highly interactive yoga session that will require full body movement. Participants of all levels of experience and abilities are welcome. Some modified movements will be shared and the instructor may be using amplified audio. This class will always focus on the breath, and keep the movement as a secondary factor. This makes room for grounding and makes it the student’s choice of how far to push physically.
  • Beginning at 6 PM, a percussion performance by Hyun Jin Cha will take place. The performance will include drumming and will use amplified sound.

*There are no restrooms on site at the park.

*There will be no food or drink offered in the park, however, we are working with local restaurants and breweries to offer specials during the event.

*It is summertime and it gets hot at the Rail Park! Please be prepared with comfortable clothing, plenty of water, and sunscreen.

*If there is rain in the forecast, Friends of the Rail Park may cancel or postpone the event. Please check your email on the day of the event for any updates.
