Experience the Wichita State University campus in a whole new light during this special evening walking tour of the Ulrich Museum of Art's renowned Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection. Established in 1972, the collection is a nationally recognized treasure featuring 89 world-class sculptures integrated throughout the campus landscape. As an extension of the Ulrich Museum's permanent collection, it includes remarkable works by Joan Miró, Henry Moore, Louise Nevelson, Fernando Botero, Auguste Rodin, Alice Aycock, Robert Indiana, Andy Goldsworthy, George Rickey, Deborah Butterfield, Luis Jiménez, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Claes Oldenburg, and many other celebrated artists.
Led by Ulrich Museum staff and knowledgeable docents, you'll discover the fascinating stories behind these iconic sculptures while exploring how public art transforms everyday spaces into places of inspiration, reflection, and connection. Learn about the artists, their creative processes, and the lasting impact these works have on the Wichita State campus and the broader community.
As the sun begins to set, we'll enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and an artisan cheese tray while reflecting on the evening's experience. Together, we'll discuss favorite sculptures, share personal interpretations, and explore how art in the landscape inspires creativity, conversation, and new ways of seeing the world.
