Our speaker is Plami Tsanev, Chief Operating Officer of Innovative Change Makers (ICM). Founded in 2022, ICM empowers youth and communities through mentorship, job readiness training, and a modular curriculum, fostering safe spaces and holistic development. They provide innovative alternatives to hazardous lifestyles, focusing on mental health, positive social interaction, employment, and financial literacy to build a prosperous, supportive, and resilient community.
About Plami: Plami Tsanev is the Chief Operating Officer at Innovative Change Makers, where she leads efforts to empower youth through a wrap-around approach to community engagement. This holistic strategy prioritizes creating safe spaces where young people can thrive, fostering an inclusive environment for both youth and their families. Working closely with the Innovative Change Makers team, Plami emphasizes collaboration and support, ensuring that each program addresses the diverse needs of the community.
Her commitment to this comprehensive model enables the organization to build a strong network of resources and services, creating a true web of support for youth. By integrating various community resources, Plami and her team aim to provide the tools and opportunities that empower young individuals to succeed - staying true to the Innovative Change Makers mission statement: "working together as a community to provide innovative alternatives to hazardous lifestyles for our youth".
In addition to her role at Innovative Change Makers, Plami serves as a Small Business Support Navigator at Tacoma Urban League, where she helps local entrepreneurs through business consultation and community partnerships. Her dual focus on youth empowerment and community collaboration exemplifies her dedication to fostering a thriving environment for all.
