About this Event
WHAT: Join us for a paddle down Fresh Creek, during a beautiful autumn sunset.
WHO: This program is for experienced paddlers ONLY. Participants must be at least 15 or older to participate in this program. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The EE Team will call to verify your paddling skill level once you have registered.
WHEN: Friday, September 27th from 5pm to 6:30pm. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours.
WHERE: Kayak programs are held at the Penn Water Access Area, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the parking lot along gravel trails. This program is NOT at the Penn Pier. Paddlers must be on time for their session or they will not be permitted on the water.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
We will provide all necessary equipment including: kayak, paddles, PFD (personal floatation device), and kayaking knowledge.
All participants must sign a NY State Parks waiver in order to paddle. Participants under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign the waiver on their behalf. Participants are expected to wear a PFD at all times while on the water.
Our boats are all double sit-on-top kayaks. Boats will be assigned based on group needs.
You will have to wade into the water to get into the kayak, so please wear secure footwear that can get wet and muddy. You will not be allowed to paddle or walk on the shoreline barefoot, as there are sharp rocks and shells in the sand.
Please use the restroom before coming to the program location. There are no restrooms near the Penn Water Access Area.
All paddling programs are weather dependent and are subject to cancelation or rescheduling if weather, tide, or water conditions are deemed unsafe by the instructor.
