About this Event
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Environmental Specialist Holly Giles for a sunset paddle to the Turnbull Bay Canoe Campsite at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. Bring your dinner to enjoy at the campfire. We’ll provide marshmallows for roasting. We’ll paddle back to Divito Drive under the light of a full moon.
**Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: Short paddling trip and sitting by the campfire. Easy to moderate paddling trip.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet.
WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe or SUP), paddle, personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), whistle, electric white light (flashlight, lantern, headlamp) water to drink, bug spray, dinner, and s'mores ingredients
FACILITIES: There will be a port-a-potty but no running water.
