Join us on World Mental Health Day on Friday, October 10th for a Sunrise Tailgate from 6:30am to 9:30am to rise and freakin' shine and help raise awareness! This is a donation based event with the goal of making Mental Health resources accessible and free to the community!

It’s not about doing everything. It’s about doing what you need — at your own pace, on your own terms with as little or many people as you’d like just in time for sunrise.

We created Sunrise Tailgate because self-care doesn’t have to be one-size-fits-all—or stressful. Life is busy, mornings are fleeting, and mental wellness can feel like another thing on your to-do list. Here, it’s different. Sunrise Tailgate is a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ for your mind, body, and soul. Flow through yoga, journal your thoughts, sip matcha, hike, dance to a live DJ… or simply sit back and soak it all in with the landscape of Red Rocks and b-e-a-utiful Colorado.

What it is:

• A community experience where connection is as important as the sunrise.

• A choose-your-own-adventure morning — do everything, or just the one thing you need most.

• A reminder that your mental health deserves a spot on your to-do list.

• A space to explore wellness practices—old favorites or new tools—in a way that works for you.

• A chance to reset outdoors with music, movement, nature, and presence.

What it isn't:

• A rigid program with a checklist of things you “should” do.

• A performance or competition about who’s the “most well.”

• A one-size-fits-all approach to self-care.

• A replacement for therapy or professional mental health care.

Why it matters: World Mental Health Day is on October 10th every year: a moment to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for better mental health for all. This day is a reminder that mental health isn’t separate from the rest of our lives. Our relationships, work, leisure, environment, and daily choices all play a part. Even when people know they need help, systemic barriers (cost, lack of providers, stigma) often make it hard to get it. Events like Sunrise Tailgate help fill some of those gaps — by offering accessible wellness practices, community, and tools that don’t require clinical sessions. It also helps normalize self-care and mental wellness in a public, shared space, which can reduce stigma.

Info: Head into Red Rocks to catch the sunrise. This is a choose your own adventure experience -- but we will have the following available to you: • guided yoga & breathwork • journal prompts (please bring your own journal) • health & wellness vendors to explore • solo time

Info: We will head out to the Red Rocks Trading Post Trail for quick 1.6 mile hike. You'll make your way through spectacular rock formations, valleys and a natural meadow. Some of the terrain is rough, so hiking boots/shoes are recommended. This is a choose your own adventure experience -- but we will have the following available to you: • forest bathing guidance • water • hiking buddies • solo time

Info: Our local vendors and DJ will be setup until 9:30am for you to enjoy at your leisure! Becky will also be available to answer any and all Mental Health questions (including learning about Mental Health First Aid!) throughout the entire event. Remember: t’s not about doing everything. It’s about doing what you need — at your own pace, on your own terms with as little or many people as you’d like just in time for sunrise. So do a little, or do a lot!
