About this Event
Grief is complex, but you don’t have to walk through it alone.
Join us for a 6-week Christ-centered grief support group designed to offer spiritual encouragement and practical tools for navigating loss. Whether you're mourning the death of a loved one, facing a difficult transition, or carrying grief that feels too heavy to name, this space is for you.
Each session includes reflection, Scripture, prayer, light refreshments, and group discussion. You'll receive weekly handouts, guided prompts, and biblically grounded exercises to help you process grief at your own pace (as needed).
We’ll explore:
- Common myths about grief
- The five commonly recognized stages of grief
- Emotional, physical, and spiritual reactions to loss
- How to identify and confront the lies the enemy tells us about grief
- Ways to find hope and healing in Christ while honoring your unique grief story
🕊️ Led by: Carrie Suter, LMHC – Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 4 years of experience facilitating grief work and support spaces that are faith-informed, trauma-sensitive, and deeply compassionate.
🌅 What “Sunrise” Means to Us
In the Sunrise Grief Peer Support Group, “sunrise” isn’t just a pretty metaphor, but it’s a process of emergence, renewal, and hope. Through Scripture, Connection, and Safety, we gently guide one another out of the fog of grief and toward the warmth of healing light.
📖 Scripture: God’s Word anchors each session, offering comfort, wisdom, and truth in seasons of sorrow. Whether you're familiar with Scripture or just starting, we explore passages that speak to loss, lament, and the promise of joy after mourning.
🤝 Connection: You don’t have to grieve alone. We create a community where you can share (or simply listen) without judgment. Hearing others’ stories reminds us that our pain is real, but also, so is hope.
🛡️ Safety: Emotional safety is sacred here. This group isn’t therapy, but it is therapeutic. We protect each other’s vulnerability with respect, confidentiality, and grace, creating space to process honestly.
Sunrise means this: we honor the night you’ve been through, and walk with you as light begins to break again.
