SUNNYSIDE SWINGSTERS WITH SHELLEY LEONG:
The Sunnyside Swingsters is a 6-piece band led by Shelley Leong & Eric Kong, born out of their common love for the dance community of the San Francisco Bay Area. They bring their infectious joyful energy to the big stage. From 1920s to 1950s dance hall music, they play songs that swing so hard you can’t help but dance. The Sunnyside Swingsters also give a second life to some rarely heard show tune gems. The mood is whimsical and fun. Also expect new original songs paying tribute to dance! Whether you dance Lindy, Balboa, Shag or slow jazz, they have something for you. As regular dancers themselves, their motto is “we play music we want to dance to!”

WOODCHOPPER'S BALL:
The Woodchopper's Ball, San Francisco's swing hot spot, is a weekly Tuesday night swing dance event held at the historic Verdi Club in San Francisco's Mission district. Named after the classic 1939 swing tune by the Woody Herman Orchestra (and their biggest hit!), it features monthly classes, a full bar (21+ only), and a dance party with a drop-in lesson and the largest variety of live swing dance music in town!

* SEPTEMBER (5-week) LINDY HOP, BALBOA, and SLOW BALBOA monthly class series continue tonight, 7:00-9:00pm. Single Monthly Class drop-in: $30/person/week (includes Dance Party!), no partner required.
