A notorious thief in Bethlehem steals a sheep, but where will he hide it...?Sundays @ 3 Presents its first-ever theatrical-musical performance with the Medieval mystery play The Second Shepherds Pageant. Dating from the 14th Century, this play is presented in a newly translated and adapted version by Dr. Linda Marie Zaerr, Professor Emerita of Medieval Studies at Boise State University, now residing in Corvallis. This comical retelling of the Christmas story centers around a lovable villain who steals a sheep, shepherds who leave their flock to chase down the thief, a host of singing angels, and finally a tender moment at the manger in Bethlehem.
Additionally, the play will include lots of rarely-heard Medieval music, played on Medieval-style instruments. A 20-minute musical prelude will set the scene before the play begins, and music will accompany several scenes of the play.
