For this Date March 1 we have a special optional Son Cubano workshop with Steven Messina starting at 6:30 in the studio next door.
For those not interested the social is as always, specs below with DJ Abuelo Salsero Jack spinning the tunes with basic lesson at 6:30
Cuban Son is a beautiful elegant type of Salsa danced Cuban on 2 (2-3-4 6-7-8) in a closer style to slower Son music. Son was the original and gave birth to Mambo which gave birth to Salsa. For those familiar with Buena Vista Social Club, a lot of that music like Chan Chan is Son, but also there is a lot of modern music good for son like Fresto Music, Latidos.

Basic Sunday Social details

Every Sunday, now in our 16th year since 2009.
Basic Salsa Lesson 6:30 Dance to 9:30 PM
Dance Mix is about 45% Salsa. About 40-50% Bachata and the rest Cha Cha, Kizomba, Merengue, Cumbia.
Door $10, $8 active military and Students with ID.
Not every DJ may have a card reader so best to bring cash. $10 for Cash, Venmo, CashApp. +$1 for credit card.
Children 17 and under free, with adult, or if alone $5.
