About this Event
Enjoy an exciting Sunday afternoon at Parker’s Tavern, University Arms Hotel, with live music from Brazilian jazz quartet, Cores Do Samba, presented as part of the Cambridge Arts Festival.
The band will perform an uplifting set spanning Bossa Nova and Samba classics, alongside well-loved jazz standards. Expect music by Antônio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, Elis Regina, and Carmen Miranda, alongside selections from the jazz songbook, including pieces made famous by Billie Holiday and other iconic female vocalists of the era.
The quartet features vocals, keyboard, double bass, and drums, creating a warm, inviting soundtrack for the afternoon. The group has previously performed for organisations including the National Trust, Cambridge Botanic Garden, Cambridge Jazz Festival, and Cambridge Summer Music Festival, and regularly appears at venues across the city.
Food will be served throughout the performance (please see the menu in the media), making this a perfect opportunity to settle in, unwind, and enjoy live music in a beautiful setting. The performance includes a short interval halfway through, allowing time to chat and relax before the music resumes.
This event is delivered in partnership with Cambridge BID as part of Cambridge Arts Festival 2026. The festival celebrates the city’s vibrant arts scene, encourages residents and visitors to discover new creative experiences, and creates opportunities for local businesses to play an active role in Cambridge’s cultural life.
