Explore the art in the park and find inspiration in the creative and natural landscapes of Gatton Park. Then, craft custom public monument maquettes—small 3D sculptures—out of pipe cleaners and assorted supplies. Don’t forget to add your artwork to the skyline of Lexington to take “at-scale” pictures!

Cara Coppola is an Americana musician known for her soulful yet sarcastic storytelling and captivating voice. Cara’s blending of traditional Americana sounds with contemporary influences creates a diverse set list that invites others to sing along. Her original music contains numerous literary and musical influences, blended into her own sound which she calls HymnFolk Blues, also the name of her first EP, out on all streaming services. Whether performing on stage, recording in the studio, or playing cello in an ensemble, Cara Coppola’s rich, authentic sound and heartfelt lyrics leave a lasting impact.

Bring your pup and join us for Gatton Bark, a social for dog owners and their four-legged friends! Shop local favorites like Hound and Horse Bakery, serving up fun themed cookies and treats; Mister Moose & Co., known for their trendy slip-on bandanas; and Southern Drawl Arts, a woman-owned Central Kentucky studio creating custom pet portraits and sketches. It’s the paw-fect mix of community, treats, art, and style—all in the heart of the park.
5:00–6:00 PM – Guided Tour: Art in the Park
Explore the creative spirit of Gatton Park on a guided tour led by Erica Cook, Director of Programs, and Audrey Matthews-Fields, Program Associate. Wander the park’s painted pathways and discover the stories behind its stunning public art installations.
Tour begins at the Gatton Park tent located on the Recreation Lawn.
