Hello Tango Friends HAPPY NEW YEAR! Our first Sunday Afternoon Milonga of year 2026 at The Coda Club is on 4th January 2026, 1.00-4.00pm.
We are very excited that this special milonga features a short performance by Violinist Kimberly Durflinger and Accordionist Alex Pankratov who will be playing a tanda of songs for us. A short bio of Kimberly Durflinger and Alex Pankratov is attached below.
So come join us for another wonderful afternoon of warm hugs and close embrace, and enjoy the beautiful music of this special event.

Cash bar is open for drinks.
Please note that because of liquor license regulations, attendees are requested not to bring any drinks into the event venue. You can bring an empty drink bottle and Christina at the bar will be happy to fill up water for you free of charge. Or bottled water is available for sale too.

Kimberly Durflinger’s bio…..
Originally from San Diego, California, violinist Kimberly Durflinger is currently Principal 2nd Violin of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra in British Columbia, Canada. She has performed numerous concerts all over North America with major ensembles like the San Diego Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, amongst others. She also performs in the rock band Vaerisa, and is a session musician with the company Musiversal. In her spare time, she can be found dancing Argentine Tango, baking pies, or catching shiny Pokémon.
Alex Pankratov’s bio…..
Alex Pankratov is an acclaimed accordionist distinguished by his numerous accolades on the international stage. Beginning his musical journey at just six years old, Alex quickly proved himself as a prodigious talent, securing top prizes at prestigious competitions across Russia, France, Italy, Bulgaria, and Portugal. In 2021, he claimed the title of Russia’s national accordion champion. A graduate of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music under the mentorship of the legendary accordionist Friedrich Lips, Alex is currently pursuing further studies at the University of Victoria in Canada. Known for his technical precision and depth of expression, his performances captivate and inspire audiences. Alex has had the privilege of working alongside celebrated musicians, including violist Yuri Bashmet, pianist Denis Matsuev, conductor Vladimir Shkurovsky, and conductor Valery Kiryanov. He has also performed with prominent ensembles, such as the Helikon Opera Orchestra (led by Valery Kiryanov), the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra (under Yuri Bashmet), the Rossiya Orchestra (conducted by Dmitry Dmitrienko), and the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Maxim Kachalov). In 2019, Alex presented the world premiere of a piece by German composer Valery Voronov at the XII International Winter Arts Festival in Sochi.
