About this Event
Sun Cycle returns home to Coburg Velodrome for another New Year’s Day celebration.
Opening 2022 with a new rotation - Come together for an all day celebration lifted by some of the most cutting-edge figures in music. Produced by the minds of Crown Ruler, WAT Artists and Untitled Group, our lineup flaunts the boundless spectrum of dance culture. A blender of outstanding live music and genre-spanning DJs, we connect everything from soul, jazz, hip hop, house, electronica and beyond. Celebrate local favourites and the return of some special international friends.
Sun Cycle will provoke and uplift revellers across all senses, featuring installations from our city’s brightest visual artists. The infamous bike track will once again be transformed into an imaginative space for freedom in dance. A site carved out for people to be themselves. Find confidence in community and dream big.
Last year, we shapeshifted our look to tread through a compromised environment. The world’s axis shifted, as did our orbit. On NYD 2022, we are returning to our original form.
From the sandy floors of the Body Heat stage, where dancers shake and contort themselves with unadulterated freedom, and pulled across by the shine of the Inner Orbit stage, where we witness live acts defining the next frontier in musical movements. Cool off and connect in the Simmer Down tent and indulge in great local food soundtracked by warm hi-fi sound, or simply lay back upon the risen track that orbits our beloved site.
Representation and accessibility is always a fundamental focus. From programming to infrastructure, we strive to create an environment that weaves our outlook all the way through. Sun Cycle is dedicated to creating an inclusive and safe environment for the rich community that makes up our city. A day further marked by a significant Welcome To Country, a moment we encourage all of our patrons to engage with and reflect on.
A lineup jam packed with diverse talent. From the infamous and those bubbling within, to icons who inspire the world over, we enjoy the power of music amidst challenging times. Start 2022 on the right foot and prick your ears to the right notes; Sun Cycle is set to be another day to remember.
We pay our respects to Coburg’s traditional owners – the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation – their elders past, present & emerging, and any First Nations people in the Sun Cycle community.

Does my name need to be on the ticket?
Your name must be printed on your ticket, matching your ID. Security will be checking this on the day.
We do not offer the option of simply processing a ‘name change’, this is a measure we have introduced to reduce ticket scalping and ensure ticket purchasers are not scammed when buying second-hand tickets. Ensure when purchasing ticket/s you are inputting the correct attendee details.
I can no longer attend, how do I resell my ticket?
If you can no longer attend this event you must use our official resale facility, Tixel. Once resale is open you will be able to safely resell your ticket. Tixel provides a safe marketplace allowing people to buy and sell tickets for this event hassle-free. More details will be released closer to the event as ticket resale is currently not open.
How do I change the name on my ticket?
We do not offer the ability to process a ‘name change’, instead you will required to privately transfer the ticket to your intended purchaser through Tixel.
If you have purchased a second-hand ticket from someone ‘offline’ (through Facebook etc.) you will be required to transfer the ticket using our official ticket resale partner, Tixel, once open to the public.
